RISO Launches Two Sideways-Type "Integlide" Print Engines on July 31st

RISO KAGAKU CORPORATION (President & CEO: Akira Hayama, hereinafter "RISO") will begin accepting orders in Japan and Europe on July 31st, 2026, for the new sideways-type Integlide S3491/S3461, an addition to the Integlide lineup of inkjet print engines for short-run package printing, designed for printing on package sides.
RISO has developed and marketed the Integlide series of inkjet print engines for package printing. These engines consolidate into a single process the printing of designs and information that have traditionally been applied across multiple processes such as flexo-printing, marking, and labeling.
Joining the existing downward-type Integlide S3411/S3211, which print on sheet-form packages and on the top faces of packages, the new sideways-type Integlide S3491/S3461 prints horizontally onto the sides of three-dimensional objects such as corrugated cardboard boxes and paperboard containers. This allows on-demand printing to be integrated into a wide range of production environments as required: inline or offline, before or after packing.
1. Main features of the Integlide S3491/S3461
1) Direct printing onto the sides of packages
Variable data printing at a maximum print area of 310 mm x 2,004 mm is possible on the sides of erected corrugated cardboard boxes and similar packages. Combined with a package transport module, the unit can print designs matched to the contents, along with information such as barcodes and manufacturing dates, while the package is in motion.
2) A choice of two transport configurations
Two models are available: the Integlide S3491, for lines on which the package travels left-to-right (LR) relative to the print surface, and the Integlide S3461, for lines on which it travels right-to-left (RL). This allows a flexible choice to suit an existing production and conveyor line setup.

3) Reduced package inventory and enhanced package value
Package inventory is reduced by printing only the necessary amount on plain packages when needed. On-demand full-color printing also increases design flexibility and enhances package value.
