Expanding performance for professional use: RISO launches the GOCCOPRO QS2536, a high-precision, high-resolution digital screen maker supporting large-sized frame (25" x 36")

RISO KAGAKU CORPORATION, ("RISO"), (President & CEO, Akira Hayama), has completed development of the GOCCOPRO QS2536, the top-end model in the GOCCOPRO series of digital screen makers. Worldwide product launch is scheduled for September 1, 2017.

RISO developed the GOCCOPRO series under the concept “Never been so Easy,” as a series that simplifies and streamlines the screen making process. The GOCCOPRO series was launched in 2011, adopting the RISO Dry Thermal Screen Making System*. This system uses no water or chemicals and has been adopted throughout the world.

Screen making process of the GOCCOPRO series is environmentally aware. No emulsion is used, so it requires no film positive output, exposure or drying, making it energy-efficient. It also requires no washout steps, so it generates no wastewater.

The GOCCOPRO QS2536 adopts a newly developed line thermal head with high perforation density of 1,200 dpi. Screen making temperature and time are controlled according to each original, delicately expressing the gradation of originals such as photos and ensuring high consistency in solid colors. The GOCCOPRO QS2536 can be used in combination with an increasing range of RISO Digital Screen Masters. The mesh can be chosen according to application as well as for a wide range of materials, including cloth, plastic, glass and metal, enabling highly precise screen making and beautifully detailed printing.

The GOCCOPRO QS2536 has the largest screen size of the GOCCOPRO series, handling large-sized standard 25" x 36" frames that can be installed on automatic T-shirt printers, which are used widely in the US screen printing industry. For this reason the GOCCOPRO QS2536 is in widespread use in the commercial printing field.

Drawing on the advanced technology of the RISO Dry Thermal Screen Making System, the GOCCOPRO QS2536 delivers superb image quality and precise registration. Leveraging the QS2536’s support for large image sizes, RISO is aiming to expand the market for this device, targeting demand for printing in the garment industry, mainly in the United States, as well as demand for marking (name-printing), primarily in Japan and Europe.

The GOCCOPRO QS2536 appeared as a reference exhibit at FESPA 2017, Europe’s largest screen printing and digital printing industry fair, in Hamburg, Germany from Monday, May 8 to Friday, May 12, 2017. Many attendees praised the outstanding print quality of the QS2536 and remarked that it could be of immense practical value in commercial operations. RISO plans to exhibit the GOCCOPRO QS2536 at a succession of trade fairs worldwide.

* This screen making system is the core technology supporting the GOCCOPRO series. Instead of using water or chemicals to make screens, the “RISO Dry Thermal Screen Making System” uses the heat from the thermal head to perforate original data sent from a PC onto the RISO Digital Screen Master, which is a laminate of film and screen mesh.

Key Features of the GOCCOPRO QS2536

  1. Supports making of large-sized screens for use in automatic T-shirt printers
The QS2536 supports the large-sized 25" x 36" (635mm x 914mm) frames that are standard in the United States. The large screen making size enables wide-ranging application in commercial printing.

  2. Exclusively developed line thermal head with perforation density of 1,200 dpi
With perforation density of 1,200 dpi, the line thermal head developed by RISO produces dense, uniform solid colors and finely graduated reproductions of photographs. Screen making output is adjusted for each original, providing ideal screen making for high-resolution printing.

  3. A wide-ranging selection of RISO Digital Screen Masters
In addition to the existing digital screen masters of 70, 120 and 200 mesh per inch, RISO can produce and sell a further eight types according to order, ranging from 50 to 300 mesh per inch, for a total of 11 wide range of applications are supported, varying by type of original and material printed on.

Consumables for the GOCCOPRO QS2536: RISO Digital Screen Masters

Mesh per inch: 50, 70 (standard), 100, 120 (standard), 135, 180, 200 (standard), 225, 250, 270, 300
