drupa Held in Person for the First Time in 8 Years!
— Team RISO took part in the world's largest international printing and media industry exhibition in Germany

Employees from RISO KAGAKU CORPORATION's overseas subsidiaries gathered at drupa 2024, the world's largest international printing and media industry exhibition, which was held from May 28 to June 7. At the exhibition, RISO promoted VALEZUS, ComColor, and various solutions utilizing post-processing functions. In this article, we look back on the event.

A total of 1,646 companies from 52 countries exhibited at drupa 2024, which was held over the course of 11 days. There were also 170,000 visitors from 174 countries around the world.

International members came together and demonstrated their strength as a team

The world's largest international printing and media industry exhibition, drupa 2024, is held once every four years at Messe Düsseldorf in Germany. The previous exhibition was held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so this was the first time in eight years that it was held in person, and the vast venue was filled with an enthusiastic atmosphere from the visitors who had come from all over the world.

RISO's theme for the event was "We Innovate. You Benefit / Sustainable Automation." At the booth, where a banner in RISO KAGAKU's corporate color was proudly displayed, staff gathered from subsidiaries and distributors around the world, including Europe, North and South America, China, and India, as well as from the parent company in Japan. The diverse and international group of people came together as a team to promote the ComColor high-speed inkjet printer and VALEZUS production printer, as well as to propose solutions for automating everything from printing to post-processing.

Toma Fuse, who was on hand from the Overseas Marketing Strategy Department to manage the booth, mentioned how pairing staff from different countries and regions during customer interactions helped promote mutual exchange, "There were many frank employees, which allowed communication to progress very smoothly." In addition, Toma recalled the discovery that, rather than always responding in English, having staff members who could speak to visitors in their first language, such as Chinese or French, resulted in a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere during customer interactions. Meanwhile, Minori Ochiai, also from the Overseas Marketing Strategy Department, recalls being inspired by the enthusiastic overseas staff, "Everyone had a positive attitude toward customer service and, even when speaking to someone from a different country, they spoke enthusiastically about the history of the company and our products, and I really felt this reflected not only their desire to increase the number of fans of RISO but also their pride in being RISO employees. I think it is important for the whole company to share in these feelings."

Colleagues from all over the world came together for this international exhibition. Transcending nations and regions, Team RISO assembled under the purple banner of RISO and demonstrated their collective strength.

In Germany, electricity bills are extremely expensive, so anything with energy-saving performance is sure to appeal. The feedback from visitors to the booth was positive overall. The best thing about working at RISO is that you can enjoy working together like you are part of one big family.

We were able to show that we can respond quickly to market needs and have a variety of solutions. It was a good opportunity to get a feel for the market situation in different countries, and learn about the organizational information of subsidiaries, as well as differences in work styles.

It was good to be able to learn about the success stories of RISO subsidiaries in other countries. RISO's advantage comes from the uniqueness of our products, which sets us apart from other companies. The production print market is likely to experience further growth in the future, so we aim to acquire new customers.

In total, 1,388 people (1,257 companies) visited the RISO booth. "We were able to exhibit in an area of the venue that had particularly high footfall, so we had even more visitors than last time."
